Everything That Happens During Your Initial Consultation

The initial consultation provides the full spectrum of addressing your hearing care needs. The reason that brings you to our office is going to be the first thing that Dr. Emberlin will want to discuss. For example, how is your hearing loss affecting your interaction with others, your understanding of the TV, or confidence when talking on the phone? In general, what are your concerns and what are the important things in your life where hearing is breaking down the experience. We then proceed to the Hearing Test.

Hearing Test - Audiogram

A hearing test measures how sensitive a person’s hearing is to the full range of speech sounds. This hearing test, called an audiogram, will measure the quietest sound that can be heard at different points across the speech range. Dr. Emberlin will look at the results of each test to come up with a treatment plan that is made just for you and your type of hearing loss.

Discuss the Results

Once you’ve completed your initial consultation and hearing test, Dr. Emberlin will discuss the results of the test with you, including your specialized treatment plan, as well as answer any questions you or your loved ones may have about the results and plan of action.

If you and Dr. Emberlin decide that hearing aids are a practical solution to your hearing loss, you can either make a purchase or we can also fit you with a loaner pair to take home and try out! During this trial period, you will be able to experience what it’s like to bridge the gap between your hearing loss and better understanding.

User Education

Once you decide to purchase a set of hearing aids, you and Dr. Emberlin will discuss which hearing device technology and style is right for you, Dr. Emberlin will then educate you on your new purchase! This includes such things as functionality, proper care and maintenance and bluetooth compatibility. We want you leaving our office feeling confident about how you can use your new hearing devices to maximize the hearing aid benefit. Of course you will not walk out our door without knowing you will have continued care and support from Bridge Hearing Center. Ask us about our Bridge Continuous Care plan.
